Three for Three!
Tonight’s the night! The final presidential debate will kick off at 9 pm tonight, after which we will be freed from the pernicious curse of instant spin and out-of-context soundbites. Right?
It will be focused on foreign policy and therefore — as Drezner argues — be terrible, because fully TWO THIRDS of it will be focused on the Greater Middle East. Drezner nevertheless offers the only worthwhile drinking game this time around.
You can also read up on key foreign-policy details, courtesy of Max Fisher — including this sassy cheat sheet on the Middle East (yawn) from Robert Satloff.
David Rothkopf explains why foreign policy suddenly matters in this election, and Daniel Larison previews the debate with a look at US public opinion and an assessment of Romney’s weaknesses. There’s a whole raft of wishful-thinking intelligent questions out there that bloggers wish they’d hear tonight.
The trudge continues on Twitter at 9:00 pm Eastern with the hashtag #banter2012. Help us finish off this debate season!
