Post-Hurricane Halloween
Good morning, Wonkistan! We hope you’re all well and accounted for today. Both Ivan and Amanda made it through the storm intact, though Amanda spent yesterday morning chopping her car out of the driveway. Yikes.
Though it sure doesn’t feel like it in New York City, where over 400,000 people remain without power in lower Manhattan alone, it is Halloween! We hope you’ll share your plans and costumes with us.
In true Wonkistani style, Chris Koentges of The Atlantic discusses his longstanding costume, the cosplaying ethos, and escapism in “The Glory of Wearing the Same Halloween Costume Every Year.”
Of course, for some of us, October 31 means something very different—it’s D-Day, as in Decision Day, as in NaNoWriMo 2012. You in?
